JANE’S ADDICTION Adds TV ON THE RADIO's DAVE SITEK To Creative Team
January 4, 2011JANE'S ADDICTION — singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins — and producer Rich Costey (MUSE, FRANZ FERDINAND, INTERPOL) recently added TV ON THE RADIO's Dave Sitek to the creative team. Sitek, best known for his production work on TV ON THE RADIO, YEAH YEAH YEAHS and THE FOALS, will be writing and playing bass on the new JANE'S ADDICTION album.
JANE'S ADDICTION — who wrote the rule book for alternative music and culture through a combination of genre-defying classic songs and a cinematic live experience — is recording its fourth studio album in Los Angeles, tentatively scheduled for a summer of 2011 release on Capitol Records.
"Dave, Steve and I are fully immersed in the process of making modern music," says Perry Farrell. "It has been a great experience thus far, and the results have so much potential."
"This process has been both inspiring and incredibly freeing," says Dave Navarro. "The events over the last year have proven themselves to be a necessary part of the journey as they have led us to our current creative team and direction."
JANE'S ADDICTION parted ways with bassist Duff McKagan (DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED, VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) last September after only five months of working together.
The band released its first-ever concert DVD and Blu-ray, "Live Voodoo", in August via Eagle Rock Entertainment.
Costey's extensive experience in the studio includes album production for such bands as MUSE and FRANZ FERDINAND as well as having studio credits for engineering, programming and mixing for WEEZER, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, DOVES and JURASSIC 5, among others.
JANE'S ADDICTION debuted a brand new song, "Another Soulmate", during an intimate one-off Cinco de Mayo concert on May 5, 2010 at Bardot, Hollywood in Hollywood, California.
